YSU Symposiums for educators are scheduled
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Youngstown State University CATALYST is sponsoring two symposiums this week, including one on Jim Zull's book, "The Art of Changing the Brain," from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday in Bresnahan Suites I and II of Kilcawley Center.
Zull, a professor of biochemistry and director of the University Center for Innovation in Teaching and Education at Case Western Reserve University, will discuss teaching by exploring the biology of learning. The book has been discussed by YSU's Faculty Book Club, sponsored by the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning.
CATALYST has a second symposium, "Interactive Power Point Technology for Instruction and Assessment," from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday in Moser Hall's Schwebel Auditorium.
Representatives of Turning Technologies, the Youngstown-based software company that developed the interactive PowerPoint software, will deliver presentations, and various educators will discuss how the software is applied.
