Stylist offers hair-raising hints for moms
NEW YORK (AP) -- Hairstylist Rodney Cutler, owner of New York's Cutler Salon, knows the challenges facing a new mothers.
As a new father, he's seen firsthand how taking care of a baby tends to sideline a woman's normal beauty routine. But Cutler says you don't have to sacrifice style for motherhood, and offers these suggestions for new moms:
UDon't just put your hair back in a ponytail or bun -- mix it up with different accessories. Cutler suggests headbands, which require minimum primping time but create sleek shapes to frame your face.
UTry some bangs; they dry fast, keep wispy hair out of your face and don't require much styling.
UDon't skimp on conditioner. With a child tugging on your hair, it's important to keep it healthy. Cutler suggests a once-a-week hair moisture treatment along with daily use of anti-frizz products to keep hair in shape.
