OSU WOMEN Buckeyes roll past IUPUI for fourth win
COLUMBUS (AP) -- Caity Matter sank 8-of-12 three-point shots and finished with 26 points to lead No. 14 Ohio State to a 96-48 victory Monday night over Indiana-Purdue-Indianapolis.
Brandie Hoskins had 17 points, eight rebounds and eight assists for the Buckeyes (4-0). LaToya Turner added 13 points and five blocks, and Jessica Davenport had 10 points and three blocks.
Natalie Hendricks scored 16 points and Kia Hayes had 10 for the Jaguars (1-4) in the first meeting between the teams.
Ohio State scored 17 straight points to take a 30-15 lead with 7:44 remaining in the first half. IUPUI missed six shots, including three 3-pointers, and committed four turnovers while going scoreless for more than six minutes.
After Hayes ended the Buckeyes' run with a layup, Ohio State scored the next eight points on two 3s by Matter and a layup by Kim Wilburn to go ahead 38-17.
Ohio State was ahead 49-21 at the break, and led by as many as 49 points in the second half.
The Buckeyes shot 59 percent (35-for-59) and made 14-of-23 attempts from 3-point range. The Jaguars shot 31 percent (19-for-61) and hit only 4-of-20 shots from beyond the arc.
