The blazer is much more than a uniform
WASHINGTON POST
There is something incredibly sexy about a man and a blazer. We're not talking about gold buttons and khakis (and it will not be referred to as a "sport coat"); but rather a denim-corduroy-velvet blazer with a fun, bright shirt or tee peeking out, and a pair of jeans or cords. Maybe he's in dress-up date mode. Maybe he's in dress-down office mode.
The blazer has become "the new fashion staple for men," says French Connection's Amy Glickman, whose London-based company was inspired by British styling.
The blazer works on so many levels because it's like an accessory -- something to punch up the common shirt-pants combo. It allows guys, says Glickman, to "transform any look into the most fashionable, modern and hip look of the season."
