FREEPORT, Bahamas -- Penn State had a lot to prove against Kansas State.
Tanisha Wright had 23 points in No. 7 Penn State's 69-56 victory over No. 9 Kansas State on Saturday in the championship game of the Junkanoo Shootout. Last season, the Kansas State beat the Lady Lions 88-66 in the final of the Preseason NIT.
Kelly Mazzante finished with 16 points for Penn State (3-1), and Jess Strom added 15 points and six assists.
"Revenge is sweet and we definitely talked about it a lot," Strom said. "That was a bad game for us last year and we just wanted to come back and prove they are not better than us.
"I'm the point guard, so I'm supposed to be in the middle of everything and I was just trying to get my teammates involved. We decided just to attack their press and I was able to dribble through it."
Nicole Ohlde and Megan Mahoney scored 15 points each for Kansas State (2-2), and Ohlde -- who missed much of the Wildcats' 59-50 win over Arizona State on Friday because of an ankle injury -- had 11 rebounds. Kendra Wecker added 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Wildcats, who lost despite outrebounding Penn State 40-31.
Penn State closed the first half with a 12-0 run for a 31-26 lead, and Kansas State could never get closer than two points in the second half. Penn State also scored 19 points off 12 Kansas State turnovers.
No. 4 Duke 119, Stephen F. Austin 53
DURHAM, N.C. -- Iciss Tillis scored 23 points and Mistie Bass added a career-high 21 to lead Duke in the first round of the Duke Classic.
Alana Beard added 20 points and seven Duke (3-1) players scored in double figures. The Blue Devils will face No. 25 Auburn, a 79-72 winner over Creighton, in today's championship game.
Jessica Foley scored 14, Monique Currie 12, Lindsay Harding 11 and Vicki Krapohl 10 for Duke.
Reserve Latoya Mills scored 12 points to lead the LadyJacks (0-3).
Bass had 12 first-half points, and Tillis 10 as Duke built a 49-33 lead by the break.
Stephen F. Austin stayed in contention by shooting 13-for-25 in the first half, including 5-for-10 from 3-point range.
Duke outrebounded the LadyJacks 36-14 and outscored the LadyJacks 70-20 in the paint.

No. 8 Purdue 76, Wake Forest 57
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Shereka Wright scored 19 points and Purdue pulled away late to defeat Wake Forest in the Golden Knights Classic.
Beth Jones added 12 points and Erin Lawless scored 11 for the Boilermakers (4-1), who closed the game on a 14-4 run.
Purdue was streaky throughout. The Boilermakers opened the game on a 10-0 run, then used a 12-0 burst midway through the second half to open a 15-point lead with 7:41 left.
Wake Forest (3-1) got the lead back to single digits, but never got closer than nine in the final minutes.
Wake Forest trailed by as many as 11 in the first half, yet rallied and tied the game at 43 when a 12-footer by Liz Strunk fell with 19:27 remaining.
The Demon Deacons, though, didn't connect on another field goal for the next 7:37 and turned the ball over nine times during that stretch.
No. 13 North Carolina 76,Maryland-Baltimore County 34
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Leah Metcalf and Ivory Latta scored 16 points to lead North Carolina to victory.
Metcalf and Latta shot a combined 7-for-13 from 3-point range, and Camille Little finished with 12 points and seven rebounds for the Tar Heels (4-0).
Anastasia Goncharova shot 6-for-13 from beyond the arc and led UMBC (0-3) with 18 points.
No. 21 Arizona 67, Navy 61
HONOLULU -- Shawntinice Polk scored 19 points and sparked two key runs to lead Arizona over Navy at the Rainbow Wahine Classic.
After a 17-5 Navy run tied the score at 48 with less than eight minutes left, Polk scored on two consecutive possessions while Navy failed to score on four straight trips up the floor. Three minutes later, Arizona (2-2) led by eight.
Dee-Dee Wheeler also scored 19 points for the Wildcats.
Courtney Davidson led Navy (2-2) with 21 points. Adrienne Roseti added 15 for Navy, which missed 19 of 24 3-point attempts.
Polk broke a 7-all tie in the first half with three consecutive baskets. That began a 15-5 run that put the Wildcats up by as many as 13 points in the first half. Arizona had a 32-22 lead at halftime.
The Wildcats face Hawaii in Sunday's game for fifth place.
No. 23 TCU 79, BYU 74
PROVO, Utah -- Amy Pack scored 18 points and had five rebounds to lead Texas Christian past Brigham Young.
Sandora Irvin added 16 points and seven rebounds and Ebony Shaw scored 10 for the Lady Frogs (3-0).
Julie Sullivan had a chance to tie it at 75 for the Cougars (2-2) with 30 seconds left but went 1-of-2 from the line.
TCU shot 49 percent (27-for-55) from the field and forced BYU into 20 turnovers.
Ambrosia Anderson scored a career-high 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead BYU, which was 20-for-53 from the field.
BYU cut TCU's lead to 53-47 five minutes into the second half. Irvin and Pack then scored TCU's next 11 points to give the Lady Frogs their biggest lead of the game at 64-49 with 11:56 left.
The Cougars countered with a 12-2 run to cut TCU's lead to 66-61 following a basket by Danielle Cheesman with 6:50 left.
TCU led 75-73 with 56 seconds left after a layup by Anderson, but Pack and Shaw each hit two free throws to preserve the win.
No. 25 Auburn 79, Creighton 72
DURHAM, N.C. -- Le'Coe Willingham scored 16 of her 21 points in the second half, helping Auburn rally in the first round of the Duke Classic.
Mandissa Stevenson added 16 points, and Louise Emeagi scored 10 for the Tigers (4-1).
Laura Spanheimer's 22 points paced Creighton (1-2), which led 46-39 at halftime.
But Willingham made five of her last six shots -- she was 7-for-13 overall -- to lead Auburn's comeback.
Christy Neneman and Dayna Finch each had 15 points and four assists for Creighton.
