NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -- Jameer Nelson scored 24 points, including a half-court shot with less than 10 seconds left, for St. Joseph's.
A steal by Troy Nance and a layup by Isaiah Hunter with 20 seconds left capped a 15-4 run and pulled Old Dominion to 72-70.
After Nelson's long distance 3-pointer, Hunter hit an off-balance jumper in the lane with 1.7 seconds left to pull Old Dominion within three, but St. Joseph's (4-0) inbounded the ball and time ran out.
Alex Loughton had 22 of his career-high 24 points in the second half for the Monarchs (0-2). He also had 15 rebounds.

CINCINNATI (AP) -- Field Williams matched his career high with 24 points, hitting eight of his 10 3-point shots, and No. 19 Cincinnati relied on its trapping defense to beat Coppin State.
Cincinnati (3-0) forced 29 turnovers that set up 30 of its points and prevented Coppin State (2-4) from getting too close.
Tony Bobbitt added 21 points for the Bearcats. Jimmy Boykin scored 21 points for Coppin State.
