PREVIOUS POSITIONS INCLUDE: Most recently, he was regional director of cardiothoracic services and chief of cardiothoracic surgery at Mercy Hospital in Scranton and Wilkes Barre, Pa. He also was a cardiothoracic surgeon and director of cardiopulmonary transplantation at Temple University Hospital and St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. Additionally, he was associated with St. Luke's Healthcare Network in Pennsylvania as founder and director of the Pennsylvania Heart Institute.
EDUCATION: Dr. Cavarocchi received his medical degree in 1978 from Temple University School of Medicine, where he did his internship and residency in surgery and was chief resident for surgery. He did a residency in cardiothoracic surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., where he became chief resident. He also did a residency in transplantation at Papworth Hospital in England.
