HONOLULU -- Nina Norman scored 18 points and Heather Schreiber added 14 points and 10 rebounds for Texas in the opening round of the Rainbow Wahine Classic. Texas (4-0) used its size to dominate the Midshipmen, outrebounding them 49-30. Tiffany Jackson added 13 points for Texas while Kalee Carey and Mercedes Williams had 11 apiece.
No. 5 Texas Tech 74, Michigan 61
DALLAS -- Reserve Alesha Robertson scored 13 points, and Casey Jackson ignited a key second-half run by Texas Tech in the SMU Hoops for the Cure tournament. No starter for Texas Tech (5-0) reached double figures with reserves scoring 41 points. After the Wolverines closed to 59-54 with 8:26 remaining, Jackson began a 7-0 run with consecutive baskets.

FREEPORT, Bahamas -- Tanisha Wright scored 14 of her 16 points in the first half, added six assists and five rebounds for Penn State in the Junkanoo Shootout. The Lady Lions went on a 14-2 run in the final three minutes of the first half to take a 22-point lead. Jess Strom added 17 points and five assists for Penn State (2-1). Jessica Brungo had 16 points and Kelly Mazzante added 13 and seven rebounds.
No. 8 Purdue 87, Central Florida 52
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Katie Gearlds had 16 points and Purdue controlled the game from the outset in the opening round of the Golden Knights Classic. Erin Lawless added 14 points for Purdue (3-1), which also got 13 points from Shereka Wright. The Boilermakers also got nine points and seven assists from Beth Jones.
No. 11 Minnesota 88, Texas A & amp;M 72
FREEPORT, Bahamas -- Kadidja Andersson scored 10 of her 18 points in the second half and finished with seven rebounds, leading Minnesota to a victory over Texas A & amp;M at the Junkanoo Shootout. Texas A & amp;M cut a 32-point deficit to 11 in the second half. But Lindsay Whalen, who had 17 points, five rebounds and six assists, made a key assist and two free throws late in the game.
Virginia 70, No. 21 Arizona 65
HONOLULU -- LaTonya Blue scored 16 points to lead four scorers in double figures, and Virginia was an upset winner in the first round of the Rainbow Wahine Classic. Anna Prillaman added 14 points, Brandi Teamer 13 and Kate Kreager 10 for the Cavaliers (2-1).
