GREENVILLE
Coach: Mike Murray, third season (18-28).
2002-03 record: 8-14.
Returning letterwinners: Megan Szewczyk (5-9, Sr., F); Ashley Williams (5-7, Sr., G); Kristen Skelley (5-7, Jr., F); Rachael Cascio (5-6, Jr., G); Allyson Blaschak (5-7, Jr., G); Lauren Kremm (5-6, Jr., G); Erin McCormick (5-6, Soph., G).
Outlook: The Trojans started four sophomores much of last season and that experience should pay off this year. Led by Kristen Skelley -- the team's top scorer and rebounder -- Greenville has high expectations for this season.
GROVE CITY
Coach: Roger Flynn, 26th year (491-168).
2002-03 record: 11-13.
Returning letterwinners: Amy Molloy (5-3, Sr., G); Sarah Noone (5-8, Sr., F); Jessica Taylor (5-3, Sr., G); Alissa Chutz (5-8, Jr., F); Ashley McKnight (5-6, Jr., G); Julie Molloy (5-8, Soph., F).
Newcomers: Sheila Ogden (5-11, Soph., C); Jenna Kelly (5-9, Fr., F).
Outlook: Grove City had an uncharacteristic down year last season, finishing with a losing record for the first time and missing the playoffs. With six returning letterwinners and good quickness, that should turn around this season.
KENNEDY CATHOLIC
Coach: Pat Mastrian, third season (47-12).
2002-03 record: 23-6, 4-0 (district champions).
Returning letterwinners: Leah Mastrian (5-11, Sr., G/F); Elysa Farrell (5-11, Sr., C); Kendra Radkowski (5-11, Soph., F); Hallie Arena (5-2, Jr., G); Alexis George (5-8, Jr., G).
Newcomers: Teresa Picciotto (5-6, Jr., F); Christina Lombardi (5-7, Jr., G); Heather Brooks (5-4, Fr., G).
Outlook: Despite losing two all-county players, Kennedy should be just as good as last year. All-state selection Leah Mastrian leads a deep, experienced and talented Golden Eagles team that will look to make a run at the state tournament.
LAUREL
Coach: Terry Watters, 28th season (255-244).
2002-03 record: 15-7, 10-4.
Returning letterwinners: Jenette Cline (5-10, Sr., F); Ashley Harian (5-6, Sr., G); Aidan Timmerman (5-8, Jr., F/G).
Newcomers: Haley Kramer (5-6, Jr., G); Malorie McClimans (5-8, Jr., G/F); Jenn Emery (5-10, Soph., F); Trena Schooley (5-4, Soph., G); Deanna Shaffer (5-4, Soph., G); Jessica Spielvogel (5-6, Soph., F).
Outlook: Lost five senior starters and return just three players with varsity experience. Will just look to be competitive in all games.
MERCER
Coach: Art Amos, second season (12-12).
2002-03 record: 12-12, 3-5.
Returning letterwinners: Ashlee Highfield (5-8, Sr., F); Kristi Allen (5-7, Jr., G); Emilie Humes (5-4, Jr., G).
Newcomers: Eliza Rust (5-8, Sr., F); Stephanie Scheuermann (5-5, Sr., G); Courtney Scheuermann (5-6, Sr., F); Amy Addison (5-6, Jr., G); Nicole Totin (5-7, Jr., G); Nicole Redmond (5-10, Soph., F); Melissa Mannozzi (5-6, Soph., G).
Outlook: With just three returning letterwinners, Mercer will need younger players to step in quickly and contribute. Should benefit from good quickness at the guard position.
REYNOLDS
Coach: Justin Magestro, sixth season (69-54).
2002-03 record: 20-6, 7-1
Returning letterwinners: Marti Shellenbarger (5-4, Sr., G); Jessica Saul (5-4, Sr., G); Michelle Cullen (5-6, Sr., G); Shaina Smith (5-4, Soph., G); Natalie Kennell (5-9, Sr., F); Lynn Renwick (5-6, Soph., F); Rachel McBride (5-7, Sr., F).
Newcomers: Marissa Jovenall (5-3, Soph., G); Ashley Black (5-3, Soph., G); Janice Ringer (5-1, Soph., G); Melissa Michael (5-7, Jr., G).
Outlook: With four returning starters, seven returning letterwinners and five solid seniors, Reynolds has high hopes for league and district titles. Good depth and athleticism, but must overcome lack of playoff experience.
UNION
Coach: Gary Trimble, 15th season.
2002-03 record: 12-12, 7-7
Returning letterwinners: Erica Trimble (5-3, Sr., G); Janelle Naples (5-3, Sr., G); Michelle Johnston (5-6, Soph., G/F); Rachel Huffman (5-4, Jr., G/F).
Newcomers: Brittany Sibley (5-8, Jr., F); Khyana Fitzpatrick (5-4, Soph., F); Brittany Lasky (5-3, Soph., G); Tabitha Hoover (5-4, Soph., F).
Outlook: After losing three senior starters, including 27-point scorer Karyln Busby, Union will need to rely on its quickness and outside shooting. Should be a rebuilding year.
