YOUNGSTOWN -- The nose of McDonald A.C. fighter Larry Polling was not broken as reported in a "Thanksgiving Feast" fight story Friday.
McDonald A.C. trainer Tony Maiorana said the lip and mouth of his 16-year-old boxer was bloodied because of braces.
"He did get caught with a jab," Maiorana said of Dan Ramun's punch to Polling, "but, because of his braces, he had blood coming out of his mouth."
Polling's first fight was stopped in the first round in the bout against Ramun (2-1).

Skiles takes overas Bulls head coach
DEERFIELD, Ill. -- Scott Skiles' reputation was forged by his feisty playing style and later by his no-nonsense, in-your-face approach during his first NBA coaching stop in Phoenix.
Can he rub off on the disappointing Chicago Bulls or will he just rub his players the wrong way?
When he took over Friday as Chicago's head coach, Skiles said it was wins and not confrontations he was seeking after nearly two years away from the sidelines.
"No question I'm a different coach than then, but I don't deviate from the core principles that I believe in, in how the game should be played," Skiles said.
That would be all-out effort and game-long defense, key ingredients sometimes missing during the Bulls' 4-12 start. Bill Cartwright was fired after the Bulls went 4-10 and then they lost two more games under interim coach Pete Myers.
Skiles said coaching players with big contracts and strong wills requires a mixture of techniques.
"One day it's telling them how much you like them and how happy you are and you encourage them. And other times, it's more serious than that and it can be confrontational," Skiles said, dressed in his new Bulls warmups after running his first practice.
"I think that is what has been put on me, is that 'He's confrontational.' I think there is subtle difference there. I don't search out the confrontation, but on other hand, I'm not afraid of it either if it does occur."
Skiles had a 116-79 record as coach of the Suns from 1999-02, and was 5-8 in the playoffs. His coaching methods created friction with some of his players, most notably Jason Kidd, before Skiles quit in February 2002. He has not coached since.
Ripken involvedin bizarre incident
BALTIMORE -- A naked man who was shot in the back showed up at the home of Cal Ripken and pleaded for help, police said.
The retired Baltimore Orioles shortstop said he called 911, though police did not identify him by name.
"The homeowner called and said there was a man banging on his door and he didn't know what was going on," Baltimore County police spokesman Shawn Vinson said. "He called back a short time later and said the victim appeared to have been shot."
The wounded man, Brian Robins, 20, of Baltimore, was found on Ripken's porch Thursday night. He was treated at a hospital and released Friday, officials said.
Robins told police that he was kidnapped Thanksgiving Day by three men who held him captive for nine hours.
Investigation goes onin outfielder's murder
INDIANAPOLIS -- Police seized a computer used by a former girlfriend of slain Cincinnati Reds outfielder Dernell Stenson in a search of the newspaper office where she once worked.
Sheriff's deputies served a search warrant at The Indianapolis Star's downtown office Wednesday and seized the computer used by former employee Jennifer Gaddis, 24, who worked in the human resources department, Sheriff's Lt. Bob Hendrickson confirmed Friday.
Police also questioned Gaddis last week and searched her Indianapolis home.
According to police reports, Gaddis had sent threatening text messages to Stenson's cell phone two weeks before he was kidnapped and killed in the Phoenix suburb of Chandler, where he was playing in the Arizona Fall League.
'No Pan Intended'draws the attention
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Pacing Triple Crown winner No Pan Intended will try to clinch harness racing's horse of the year honors with a victory in the $4.2 million Breeders Crown races at the Meadowlands tonight.
A winner in 16 of 20 starts, No Pan Intended will face nine rivals in the 3-year-old Colt and Gelding Pace, which is worth $542,500.
The race is one of eight on the rich Breeders Crown card that has drawn most of the division leaders in the 2- and 3-year-old ranks.
Unbeaten Kikikatie will try for her 15th straight win in The 2-year-old Filly Pace. Cantab Hall also will try to remain unbeaten in The 2-year-old Trot for Colts. Hambletonian winner Amigo Hall is entered in the 3-year-old trot.
However, most of the interest is in No Pan Intended, the colt who became the 10th pacer to sweep the Triple Crown with victories in the Cane Pace, Little Brown Jug and Messenger Stakes.
