UPPER MONTCLAIR, N.J. (AP) -- Pete Celebre rushed for two touchdowns, leading Ithaca to a 33-13 victory over Montclair State on Saturday in the second round of the Division III playoffs.
Montclair State (9-2) was held scoreless until the third quarter by the Bombers' (10-2) defense.
Ithaca scored first when Josh Felicetti capped an 11-play, 63-yard drive with a 3-yard touchdown pass to Michael Oertel with 13:35 to play in the first half.
Brett Kitenplon added two field goals -- one for 41 yards and the other for 27 -- to put the Bombers ahead 12-0 going into halftime.
Celebre scored his first touchdown of the day with a 26-yard run early in the fourth quarter.
The Red Hawks finally got on the board when John DiGirolamo connected with Steve Armstrong for a 15-yard touchdown strike with 10:21 remaining in the game.
Minutes later, DiGirolamo was picked off by Peter Mayer, who returned it 45 yards and put Ithaca ahead 26-7.
Celebre notched his second score of the game on a 6-yard run with 1:42 to play.
As the clock wound down, Montclair State narrowed the gap to 33-13 when Chris Volo scored on a 1-yard run.
Ithaca will advance to the quarterfinal round to face Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on December 6.
