Towering tree will grace plaza

The annual Youngstown tradition of finding a Christmas tree for Federal Plaza continues. Maria Oquendo and her family, who live on Burlington Street on the city's North Side, donated this year's tree. Above, workers from Diamond Steel Construction Co., who volunteered their time, lower the 50-foot blue spruce onto a flatbed trailer. At left, Marty Martin, a Diamond Steel worker, got into the holiday spirit while helping cut down the tree Friday. The annual tree-lighting ceremony will take place at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 6.
