Guidebook will help men get dressed up

NEW YORK (AP) -- Women are inundated with "rules" about their wardrobe -- there are the dos and don'ts, the must-haves and the have-nots -- that seem to be published in every fashion book and magazine.
Now comes the guidebook for men.
In "A Gentleman Gets Dressed Up," part of the "Gentlemanners" series written by John Bridges, Bryan Curtis, Candace Simpson-Giles and Kay West, and published by Rutledge Hill Press, men are advised on all sorts of appropriate attire.
There also is a handy list called "What Was I Thinking?" Here are 10 things a well-dressed man never does:
UWears a belt and suspenders at the same time.
UPairs dress socks with shorts.
UWears more than one ring in addition to his wedding ring.
UShops simply because a sale is in progress.
UPuts on a tuxedo that is any color other than black.
UWears sneakers with a suit -- not even a sport coat.
UCheats by wearing a clip-on tie.
UWears saggy socks.
UTries to get away with a jacket he cannot button.
UDemeans another gentleman's apparel.
