WARREN -- Several Warren people are named in a 23-count federal indictment on drug possession and related charges.
The defendants are Dianna Palmer, 40, of Rex Boulevard Northwest; Bert Reghetti, 47, of Center Street East; James R. Leigh Jr., 35, and Doris Leigh, 41, both of Glendola Avenue; Kevin Silva, 26, of Tucson, Ariz.; Edgar Medina Sahugan, 25, of San Diego, Calif.; and Edgard Bercovich Diaz of Sonora, Mexico.
The indictment accuses Palmer and Reghetti and the Leighs with conspiring to distribute marijuana and possession of marijuana and cocaine.
Charges
All but Reghetti are charged with money laundering and Palmer, Sahugan and Bercovich Diaz are charged with cash smuggling.
Palmer, Reghetti and Silva are charged with using a communication facility (telephone) to commit a felony and Reghetti is charged with various firearms violations, including a convicted felon in possession of firearms, use of a firearm while committing a drug offense or a crime of violence and possession of a firearm with a silencer.
The indictment says the Leighs stored drugs in their home for Palmer from the spring of 2003 until July 31 and that Palmer supplied Reghetti with marijuana for distribution.
The government says it seized some $585,300 in drug-trafficking proceeds, part of which was carried to Mexico by Sahugan and Bercovich Diaz on June 21.
Reghetti also is accused of having 390 marijuana plants.
