YOUNGSTOWN -- The following drives in Mill Creek Park will be closed from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdayfor the Community Cup: New Bears Den Drive, West Glacier Drive, Cross Drive and West Park Drive.
All parking for the Community Cup, a corporate athletic challenge consisting of 19 local companies and organizations, will be at the James L. Wick Jr. Recreation Area at Belle Vista Avenue and McCollum Road.
Restaurants' benefitfor Make-a-Wish
MERCER, Pa. -- "A Taste of Springfield," the Springfield Restaurant Group's fourth annual fund-raiser to benefit the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Western Pennsylvania, will be Sept. 22 at Springfield Grille in Mercer.
Guests will enjoy a buffet dinner featuring dishes from all six restaurants in the group plus a raw seafood bar, desserts, entertainment, door prizes and a live auction.
All proceeds, including servers' tips, will be donated to help grant wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses.
Last year, "A Taste of Springfield" raised $52,000; each wish costs an average of $5,000.
Tickets are $60 and are available at any Springfield restaurant: Iron Bridge Inn, Rachel's Roadhouse and Springfield Grille in Mercer, Log Cabin Inn in Harmony, Springfield Grille in Boardman, and the Hickory Bar & amp; Grille in Hermitage.
