Man jailed for lewd conduct in window
BOARDMAN -- A township man has been sentenced to 10 days in the Mahoning County Jail after lewd conduct in front of a window in his home.
Mark H. Wilson, 45, of West Boulevard pleaded guilty in Boardman area court Thursday to misdemeanor public indecency. Wilson was arrested as part of an investigation by the township police street-crimes unit.
The unit is a summerlong initiative using officers working on overtime to curb crime in certain parts of the township. Trustees allotted $50,000 to the department in May to cover the overtime cost.
Sgt. Glen Riddle said police had received two complaints from women about Wilson exposing himself to females in a nearby parking lot from a window in his home.
Riddle said a female township officer was sent to the parking lot dressed in regular clothes and pretending to have car trouble. He said within a half-hour of the officer standing in the parking lot, the man could again be seen in the window nude and performing a lewd act.
Police arrested Wilson a short time later in his back yard.
According to police, Wilson -- who has a skull tattoo in the center of his forehead -- had been released from prison several months ago after serving almost 15 years for theft and burglary.
