XYOUNGSTOWN -- A reception was held at Krakusy Hall to honor Marcus Earl Higgins and his bride, the former Kimara Janeen Rutledge, both of 3005 Rush Blvd., following the couple's 4 p.m. July 26 wedding at Rising Star Baptist Church.
Pastor Terry Bolds presided at the ceremony for the daughter of Lynn and Ardess Rutledge, 379 E. Philadelphia Ave., and the son of Winston Higgins of Youngstown and the late Jeanette Higgins.
Battenberg lace and pearls adorned the bride's Italian satin gown. It was designed with a sweetheart neckline, long sleeves, a dropped V-waistline and a cathedral train.
The honor attendant was Valerie Rutledge, the bride's cousin, and bridesmaids were Tysha Hooper and Kristen Jeffery, her cousins; Jada Christian; and Shamar Higgins, the groom's daughter. They wore sapphire-colored gowns. Flower girl was the bride's cousin, Raven Rutledge.
Winston Higgins Jr. performed the duties of best man for his brother, and groomsmen were the groom's father; Boisseau Harris; and Tracy Rutledge, the bride's uncle. Ring bearer was Andr & eacute; Tucker and usher was Tyshawn Rutledge, the bride's sons.
The bride and groom are employed at Burger King, where she is a cashier/cook and he is a cook.
