Franklin Manios elected officer of national Greek association



WASHINGTON -- Franklin Manios of Warren was elected vice president of the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association, a nonprofit group of American citizens of Greek heritage, for the 2003-04 term.
He was elected during the 81st annual AHEPA national convention held July 27 to Aug. 1 in Phoenix. The office is the second highest in AHEPA and is a one-year term.
Involvement
Manios is a member of Zeus Chapter 88 of Warren, which is one of the largest AHEPA chapters with 236 members.
As vice president, Manios will oversee the organization's membership development program. He also has served in offices at the chapter, district and national levels.
A pharmacist, Manios founded Franklin Pharmacy in 1966 and expanded it in 1979 to Franklin Pharmacy and Health Care. He is a past president of Trumbull County Pharmacy Association and a past member of the board of directors of Ohio State Pharmacy Association.
In addition to his membership in the Greek association, Manios is a member of the board of advisers to the Salvation Army, Trumbull County Board of Mental Health, Trumbull 100, Warren Athletic Association, University of Pittsburgh Alumni Association and American Legion.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1953-55.
He and his wife, Mary, have three children and two grandchildren.
