3-year-old reported dead
CORTLAND -- A 3-year-old girl, found at a home on North Bank Street with severe injuries, was transported Friday to St. Joseph Health Center, Police Chief Gary Mink said. He declined to give the child's name or the extent of the injuries.
A Trumbull County 911 supervisor, however, said Friday evening that the child was reported dead. The 911 records show a call was made to the center from the Bank Street home at about 10:21 a.m. Friday stating the girl was seriously injured and not breathing.
Mink said detectives and officials with Trumbull County Children Services were interviewing people to determine what took place.

Instant lotto winner
LISBON -- Scratching her way to a $20,000 instant lotto win, Toby Kupka of Lisbon will receive $14,300 after taxes in Ohio Lottery's instant Monopoly game.
Ohio Lottery officials said Kupka bought the ticket at Stewart's IGA in Lisbon.
Kupka is the second $20,000 winner of 12 possible in the $2 instant game, which began July 18. The $20,000 scratch is the game's top prize.
Kupka told lottery officials she scratched the train symbol because she was supposed to go on a train trip to Massachusetts. In the instant Monopoly game the ticket holder wins the prize shown below the symbol.
She said she was having such a bad day when she scratched the ticket, she thought it was a misprint.

Alexander came back to the commissioners this week saying that the Pierce Bluffs developer, Mill Creek Enterprises of Canfield, has agreed to erect a 675-foot fence along that line.
