Salem and Howland won Metro Athletic Conference showdowns.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Shauna Rockwell scored 12 points, 10 in the second game Tuesday as Chaney High defeated Ursuline 9-15, 15-13, 15-13 in volleyball action.
Adrienne Peach had 33 assists and six points for the Cowgirls (1-0). Brionna Rivers had 10 points and 10 kills.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Jennifer Grayson was 22-of-29 spiking for the Rockets (1-0), with six kills and five blocks. Melissa Shipman was 11-of-11 serving with two aces. Mooney is 0-2.

CANFIELD -- Jaime Kelly led the Tigers (3-0, 1-0 MAC) with 19 kills, nine points and four blocks. Brittany Kelly had 29 assists.
Stephanie Jarvis led the Cardinals (0-1) with 10 kills, six points and two aces. Lindsay Owen had seven kills, four points and two blocks. Brandi Snavely had 32 assists. Kerrie Haurin had seven points, two aces and five kills.

AUSTINTOWN -- Meghan McDermott had 13 points, eight kills, four blocks, 16 digs and an ace to lead Fitch.
Emily Woodall had eight points, four aces and seven digs, Jenn Drabison had six points, seven kills, five blocks and Stacie Mang had 21 assists for the Falcons (1-0).

NEW MIDDLETOWN -- Carrie Davies sparked the Tigers (3-0, 1-0 Inter-County League) with 13 points, two kills and an ace. Jess Huda added 11 points, four aces and four passes. Lindsay Johnson had eight kills.
Kathy Peterson placed the Rockets (0-2, 0-1) with one point, one kill and six assists.

ALLIANCE -- Lauren Teal led the Quakers (2-0) with 10 kills, four blocks, one ace and one tip. Sarah Hamilton had six kills, one tip and one block. Jessica Griffith had six kills and an ace.

NORTH LIMA -- Kelly Skrinyer scored seven points, with 10 assists and four digs for the Raiders (2-1, 1-0 ICL). Jodi James had three points, nine digs and eight kills. Katie Harmon led the Blue Devils (0-1, 0-1) with eight points and 12 assists.

GIRARD -- Courtney Madden scored eight points, with three aces, eight kills and three blocks for the Indians (1-0, 1-0 Trumbull Athletic Conference). Erin Stevens had seven points, 19 assists. Kristen Ragozine had four kills, three blocks and five points.
Laura Klouse of the Warriors (2-2) had six kills and three blocks. Jessica Zebroski had 10 digs and three aces.
