YOUNGSTOWN -- The second Northside Farmers Market will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Elm Street and Illinois Avenue.
A larger than expected turnout last week for the first market has encouraged more vendors and exhibitors to participate, organizers say. The market will feature local sweet corn with an assortment of fresh vegetables and fruits plus other vendors.
The market also is to operate from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 6 and Sept. 13 at Elm and Illinois.
Volunteers needed
YOUNGSTOWN -- The American Health Associations Trumbull and Mahoning/Columbiana Divisions' needs volunteers to help at their Great American Heart Walk on Sept. 13.
The event begins at 9 a.m. at the Youngstown State University track. Call (330) 965-9230.
