White Sox 13, Yankees 2
NEW YORK -- Frank Thomas hit a mammoth grand slam against Roger Clemens, and Chicago had six homers. Thomas homered high off the foul pole near the left-field upper deck, and Magglio Ordonez followed with the first of his two homers in the game between AL division leaders. Esteban Loaiza (17-6) improved to 6-1 since the All-Star break, allowing one hit in seven innings and leaving with an 11-0 lead. He tied Toronto's Roy Halladay for the AL lead in wins.
Blue Jays 12, Red Sox 9
BOSTON -- Vernon Wells hit an RBI double that keyed a five-run eighth inning, and Toronto ended Boston's five-game winning streak. The Red Sox trailed 7-1, but rallied to tie it as David McCarty hit a three-run homer. Toronto then pulled away and stopped its three-game losing streak.
Royals 9, Rangers 2
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Mike Sweeney and Aaron Guiel homered and drove in four runs apiece in support of Brian Anderson. Anderson (10-10), acquired in a trade with Cleveland on Monday, gave up two runs and four hits in six innings. Guiel, whose four RBIs were a career high, went 3-for-5.

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Brad Radke earned his first shutout of the season with a five-hitter, and Minnesota got home runs from Jacques Jones and Luis Rivas. Radke (10-10) won for the fifth time in six decisions, retiring 16 of the last 17 batters while beating John Lackey (8-13).
Mariners 9, Devil Rays 3
SEATTLE -- Jamie Moyer pitched seven innings for his first victory in three weeks, and Carlos Guillen had a three-run homer and a career-high five RBIs as Seattle snapped a season-high six-game losing streak. Guillen and Dan Wilson added two-run singles a five-run seventh inning. Moyer (16-6) won for the first time since Aug. 5, beating Victor Zambrano (9-8).
Athletics 2, Orioles 1, 12 innings
OAKLAND, Calif. -- Terrence Long doubled and scored on pinch-hitter Scott Hatteberg's bases-loaded single in the 12th inning as Oakland beat Baltimore for its fourth straight victory. Long led off the 12th with a double to the left-center gap against John Parrish (0-1), and he advanced to third on Tim Raines Jr.'s throwing error. After Baltimore walked two batters to load the bases, Hatteberg drove Hector Carrasco's pitch through the drawn-in infield to center.
NATIONAL LEAGUE
Brewers 7, Reds 1
CINCINNATI -- Doug Davis pitched a four-hitter, and the Milwaukee Brewers won their eighth straight game. Geoff Jenkins had a career high-tying four hits, including a two-run homer, as the Brewers extended their longest winning streak since a nine-game string in 1997.
Expos 14, Phillies 0
MONTREAL -- Wil Cordero hit a pair of two-run doubles as Montreal rallied from an eight-run deficit. The Expos fell behind 8-0 after five innings, and were trailing 10-4 before scoring seven runs in the seventh, getting two-run doubles from Cordero and Jose Vidro. Ricky Ledee had his first two-homer game and drove in four runs, and Mike Lieberthal had three hits and two RBIs for the Phillies.
Cubs 7, Cardinals 4
ST. LOUIS -- Mark Prior allowed three hits in eight innings, and Randall Simon and Aramis Ramirez hit back-to-back homers for Chicago in a six-run third. Albert Pujols hit his 35th home run in the sixth to snap an 0-for-13 slump at the end of his 30-game hitting streak for St. Louis. Garrett Stephenson (7-13) took the loss.
Astros 18, Dodgers 4
HOUSTON -- Jeff Kent homered and drove in five runs and Jeff Bagwell also homered for Houston. Kent, who went 3-for-4, and pinch-hitter Jason Lane delivered three-run doubles. The Dodgers took a 3-0 lead in the first inning against Ron Villone (6-2). After that, the Astros broke loose against Odalis Perez (10-10), who allowed 10 runs and 10 hits in 42/3 innings.
Mets 6, Braves 5
ATLANTA -- Mike Piazza hit a three-run homer in his first game against Atlanta this year, and Timo Perez added a two-run double. Piazza missed nearly three months with a strained right groin, including the previous 13 games between the teams. He connected in the first off Shane Reynolds (10-7) for a 3-0 lead and the Mets held on from there.
