Aug. 18
Domestic violence: Police arrested a Mentor man, 43, at the Red Roof Inn, 1051 Tiffany Blvd., on a domestic-violence charge after a Mentor woman alleged he assaulted her at the motel.
Arrest: Police charged a 39-year-old Youngstown man with receiving stolen property after a vehicle's validation sticker was stolen.
Theft: An 80-year-old Youngstown woman was charged with theft after six miscellaneous items worth $160 were stolen from Dillard's in the Southern Park Mall.
Arrest: A 61-year-old New York City woman was arrested in the 6500 block of Market Street on a falsification charge after police allege she filed a false police report claiming she was abducted.
Theft: Police arrested a 41-year-old Youngstown man at the Mahoning County Jail on a theft charge after a woman in the 300 block of Afton Avenue saw someone steal a wicker table and wicker chair from her front porch.
Assault: A Salem woman reported being threatened and assaulted in a parking lot in the 1200 block of Boardman-Canfield Road.
Forgery: A Youngstown woman alleged a 43-year-old man forged her signature.

Theft: An employee at Spartan Chevrolet, 7870 Market St., discovered a rear spoiler missing from a vehicle a customer brought in for repairs.

Burglary: A woman in the 4200 block of Hillman Way discovered damage to a door frame at her apartment.

Bad checks: Police charged a 25-year-old Struthers man with seven counts of passing bad checks after an employee at Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive, reported seven personal checks totaling $350 were returned drawn on a closed account.
Criminal damage: Police discovered someone damaged a 24-inch-by-48-inch portion of window at Audio Extreme, 7000 Market St.
Criminal damage: A woman discovered numerous scratches on her vehicle parked at the Southern Park Mall.
Criminal damage: A woman reported miscellaneous plants and flowers damaged in her front yard at her residence in the 400 block of Brookfield Avenue.
Theft: A Poland man reported he failed to receive $225 worth of merchandise he paid for over the Internet.
Assault: A Struthers man alleged his spouse assaulted him in the Red Roof Inn parking lot.
Theft: A Flagler Lane woman reported a family member's headstone was stolen from a cemetery in the 1400 block of East Midlothian Boulevard and used as a step at a Youngstown residence.
Theft: A man stole an undetermined number of packs of cigarettes at Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Theft/criminal damage: Someone tore off a vehicle's convertible top, in the 7800 block of Market Street, and stole an amplifier and a subwoofer.
Arrest: Police arrested a 17-year-old Homestead Drive girl and charged her with being an unruly juvenile after her mother alleged the girl made $620 worth of long distance calls without permission.
Arrest: A 43-year-old Youngstown man was arrested on Market Street for failure to appear in court to face a theft charge.
Arrest: A Youngstown man, 73, was arrested near Midlothian Boulevard and Simon Road for failure to appear in court to answer a criminal trespass charge.

Assault: Police arrested a 24-year-old Lisbon man on an assault charge after a Columbiana man reported being assaulted in the Salty Grog's parking lot, 1203 Boardman-Poland Road.
Drugs: After police investigated possible drug trafficking at a residence in the 700 block of Forestridge Drive, three Boardman boys, 17, 14 and 13, were arrested. All were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia; one was also charged with trafficking in drugs and another boy faced charges of possession of marijuana and possession of tobacco.
Theft: An Austintown woman discovered her wallet stolen from a room at Southwoods X-Ray & amp; Open MRI Center, 250 DeBartolo Place.
Vandalism: A man discovered about $1,500 in damage to his vehicle's driver's-side front and rear doors and rear fender, near his residence in the 100 block of Runnemede Drive.
Property damage: A woman in the 6300 block of Tara Drive reported someone set a tree house in her backyard on fire, causing $250 in damage.
Theft: Police arrested a 34-year-old Youngstown woman on a theft charge after two rings and four earrings were stolen from the JCPenney store in the Southern Park Mall.
Assault: A McDonald man alleged a co-worker assaulted him while they worked at a car wash on the 8500 block of South Avenue. The victim's left eye was swollen shut.
Domestic violence: Police arrested an 11-year-old girl at her Afton Avenue residence on a domestic-violence charge when a family member alleged the girl kicked her after an argument.
Assault: A Youngstown man reported being assaulted in the Applebee's Restaurant Neighborhood Grill & amp; Bar parking lot, 6691 South Ave.
Arrests: A Youngstown woman, 32, was arrested on Glenwood Avenue on charges of carrying concealed weapons and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police also arrested a Youngstown man, 49, on a charge of permitting drug abuse.
Theft: Someone stole a donation jar containing an undetermined amount of coins from a Speedway gas station, 5110 Youngstown-Poland Road.
Theft/drugs: Police arrested a 19-year-old Bonnie Place woman on a theft charge after two candy bars and a box of medication were stolen from Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road. She also was charged with drug abuse and possession of drug instruments after police say they found a small amount of suspected heroin and two syringes in her purse.

Burglary: A man in the 800 block of Indianola Road reported a burglary to his residence and an electric scooter, a purse, $100, four credit cards and a keypad and lock taken.
Theft: A woman discovered her purse missing while she used a restroom at the Southern Park Mall.
Attempted burglary: A man discovered someone tried to break into his residence in the 5000 block of Simon Road.
Bad check: An employee at Bochert Bros. Printing & amp; Decorating Inc., 6900 Market St., reported receiving a $26.47 check drawn on a closed account.
Identity theft: A man in the 20 block of Southwoods Drive reported someone fraudulently used his personal information to make more than $3,800 worth of unauthorized purchases.
Theft: Police arrested a 16-year-old Poland girl on a theft charge after two packs of cigarettes were stolen from Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive. She also was charged with underage possession of a tobacco product.
Theft: A woman stole six shirts from Dillard's.
Truck theft: A 1999 Dodge Dakota truck was stolen from the Holiday Inn parking lot, 7410 South Ave.
Arrests: After a traffic stop near Brookwood Avenue and Lemans Drive, police charged an Austintown man, 25, with obstructing official business; an Austintown man, 34, with possession of drug paraphernalia; and a Youngstown man, 36, with obstructing official business. He also was wanted on a charge of probation violation.
Arrests: Police arrested three Youngstown men, 27, 26 and 24, at Pal Joey's, 968 E. Midlothian Blvd., on charges of carrying concealed weapons and having weapons under disability. One man also was cited on a misdemeanor drug abuse charge.

Theft/criminal damage: An employee at Famous Hair Co., 397 Boardman-Poland Road, discovered her vehicle's passenger-side window shattered and a portable CD player stolen while she was at work.
Theft: A woman reported her checkbook missing while she was at the Southern Park Mall.
Theft: An employee at Cellular One, 8089 South Ave., reported a man broke into her car. Her purse, five CDs, two credit cards and two checkbooks were removed.
Theft/criminal damage: A man reported his car's trunk lock assembly damaged, and a 500-watt amplifier and subwoofer stolen, while the vehicle was in the 7800 block of Market Street.
Arrest: A 51-year-old man was arrested at his East Western Reserve Road residence on a warrant charging him with contempt of court, driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under a suspended license.
Domestic violence: Police arrested a Boardman man, 19, at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Boardman, on a domestic-violence charge after his girlfriend alleged he assaulted her at their residence in the 4000 block of South Avenue. The woman had numerous bruises and a swollen neck and lip.

Arrests: Police arrested a Farmdale boy, 15, and a Kinsman boy, 14, on charges of telecommunications harassment after a woman in the 60 block of Maple Drive reported telephone harassment at her residence.
Theft/criminal damage: Someone damaged a dryer's lock assembly in the laundry room at an apartment complex in the 7000 block of West Boulevard and stole an undetermined amount of money.
Theft: A woman reported a man in his 20s came to her residence in the 8000 block of Lynn Avenue and tricked her out of $11.
Criminal damage: A man reported someone damaged two 8-foot downspouts and part of a roof to property his brother owns in the 300 block of Meadowbrook Avenue.
Theft: Police arrested two Youngstown women, 41 and 21, on theft charges after $260 worth of juniors clothing was stolen from Kohl's, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: Police charged a Darlington, Pa., girl, 15, and a New Galley, Pa., girl, 17, with theft after Kohl's was the victim of a theft.
Arrest: Police arrested a 37-year-old Youngstown man at Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive, on a theft charge.
Arrest: After a traffic stop at Chili's Grill & amp; Bar, 7403 Market St., a 39-year-old Youngstown man was arrested on a warrant from Cuyahoga County charging him with probation violation.
Theft: Police arrested a 19-year-old Youngstown woman on a theft charge after $156 worth of clothing was stolen from Kohl's.
Theft: Police charged two Youngstown girls, 15 and 10, with theft after miscellaneous clothing and CDs were taken from Target, 417 Boardman-Poland Road.
Arrests: After stopping a car near U.S. Route 224 and Interstate 680, police arrested two 24-year-old Youngstown women. One was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and drug abuse (marijuana), and the other was charged with possession of a drug.
Theft: Two Boardman boys, both 15, were charged with theft after two miscellaneous clothing items were taken from Kaufmann's in the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: Someone stole 15 bags of play sand from outside Burlington Coat Factory, 461 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Theft: A man discovered his wallet missing when he was in the 1200 block of Doral Drive.
Theft: A woman reported $48 stolen from an office in Kirkland's in the Southern Park Mall. Also, a woman reported her purse and wallet stolen from the same location.
Criminal damage: A man in the 1000 block of Zander Drive reported someone tossed rocks in his above-ground pool, causing $450 in damage.
Theft: A woman reported her debit card stolen while she shopped at Target.
Theft: A woman reported her cellular phone stolen while she was in the Walgreen Pharmacy parking lot, 7295 Market St.
Theft: A woman reported her purse stolen when she was at Touchtel Wireless in the Southern Park Mall.
Theft: A man in the 100 block of Shields Road discovered a $500, 10-horsepower fishing motor stolen from a nearby parking lot.
Arrest: Police arrested a 38-year-old Youngstown man near Midlothian Boulevard on a criminal trespass charge after a Cascade Drive man reported a domestic situation with a family member.
Auto theft: A 1987 Olds 98 was stolen from the Cinemark Movies 8 parking lot, 469 Boardman-Poland Road.
Auto theft: A Westview Drive woman reported someone took her 1999 Ford Contour without permission.
Theft: A man reported two firearms stolen from a garage to his residence in the 7200 block of Vineland Avenue.

Aug. 17
Drugs: After a traffic stop near U.S. Route 224 and state Route 616, a 40-year-old Hubbard man was cited on a drug abuse charge. Police alleged finding a suspected marijuana cigarette in the vehicle's ashtray.
Aug. 18
Assault: A man in the 90 block of Hamilton Avenue alleged his former girlfriend struck and attempted to strangle him during a physical fight. The victim had numerous scratches and bruises.
Aug. 20
Theft: A woman alleged a man stole a set of golf clubs from a vehicle parked in the man's sister's garage in the 500 block of North Main Street.
Criminal damage: A man in the 30 block of College Street reported various flowers along a walkway were pulled out and tossed onto the lawn. He also reported two urns missing from his porch.
