SOCCER ROUNDUP Willis nets 5 goals; Chaney cruises, 8-1



Junior forward Brittany Sirak scored all five goals for the Boardman girls.
SHAKER HEIGHTS -- Kiki Willis scored five goals to give the junior forward nine for the season as the Cardinal Mooney High boys soccer team recorded a 7-1 win over Shaker Heights Monday.
Sophomore Zack Hernan and freshman Alecko Frangopoulos also scored for the Cardinals (3-0).
Kevin Miller had an assist and Jeff Seddon stopped four shots for the Cardinals.
Chaney 8, Canton Timken 1
YOUNGSTOWN -- T.J. Klopta scored three goals for the Cowboys (1-1), who jumped out to a 4-0 lead at the half.
Stephanie Asch scored twice while Dwin Moran, Jarrod Garcia and Adam Sanders each had a goal.
Lucas Jones scored for the Trojans.
Columbiana 4, East Palestine 1
COLUMBIANA -- Barry Kimple scored twice, while Eric Birnesser had a goal and three assists for the Clippers (2-1).
Brian Glick also scored for the Clippers and Jeff Harrold had an assist.
Corey Brittain scored for the Bulldogs (0-1).
Girls
STRUTHERS -- Junior forward Brittany Sirak scored all five goals as Boardman defeated Ursuline, 5-1.
Bridgett Celio gave the Irish (0-2) an early 1-0 lead before Sirak's scoring spree.
Kate Mansfield, Katie Stoll, Jenny Singleton, Lauren Sirak and Sarah Grabert had assists for the Spartans, who led 2-1 at the break.
Canfield 4, Hawken 1
GATES MILLS -- Whitney Zunic scored a goal and assisted on another for the Cardinals (1-1).
Nicole Sorice, Gina Ross and Callie Carrera also scored for Canfield while Kelley Martin and Laura Hageman added assists.
Warren JFK 3, Bristol 1
BRISTOLVILLE -- Jenn Natale scored a goal and added an assist while her sister, Lauren Natale, hit a 25-yard kick for Warren JFK.
Lauren Broadbent scored for JFK (3-0), but Amber Rasmussen tied the match for the Panthers (2-1). Lauren Natale gave the Eagles a 2-1 lead at the break.
Jenn Natale scored off an assist by Katie Piacquadio in the final 40 minutes.
Badger 2, Newton Falls 1
KINSMAN -- Shannon Sudon and Tessa Bonar scored the Braves' goals while Bonar and Hannah Miller recorded assists. Liz Smith had nine saves in goal for Badger (2-1).
For Newton Falls (0-2-2), Alexis Siefert tallied the goal on an assist by Heather Martin.
