Children lend a hand
GIRARD -- Seven children recently were honored by the American Red Cross for raising money to help city residents who sustained flood damage. They earned $200 by operating a lemonade stand.
Receiving certificates in the mayor's office were Jessi Fonce, 12; Ali Fonce, 10; Gina Howley, 12; Lyndsey Crown, 11; Samantha Hazelbaker, 9; Shane Hazelbaker, 12; and Sean Morrison, 11. All live on Kline Street, except Gina, who lives on West Liberty Street.
Caucus to meet
YOUNGSTOWN -- Members of the Youngstown Arts and Entertainment District Association will speak at the Mahoning Valley Women's Political Caucus meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Park Vista Gathering Room on Fifth Avenue. The meeting is open to the public. The caucus will have a reorganizational meeting at 5:30 p.m.
