CANFIELD -- The Canfield Show of Bands will be at 7:30 tonight at Canfield High School, 100 Cardinal Drive. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for students and seniors, and children 5 and under get in free.
Democrats to meet
POLAND -- The Democrats of the 17th and 6th Districts, a local political club, will meet at 7 tonight at the Poland Community Baseball Association hall on Sheridan Road. The meeting is open to the public.
Felon with gun sentenced
PITTSBURGH -- Anthony Spragling, 30, of West Lincoln Avenue, New Castle, was sentenced in federal court in Pittsburgh to 15 years in jail followed by five years' supervised release on his conviction of possession of a firearm by a felon. According to information presented in court June 6, 2002, by Assistant United States Attorney Almon S. Burke Jr.,Spragling had a 9 mm semiautomatic Taurus pistol after he was convicted April 7, 1994, in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court of manufacture, delivery and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
