ROUNDUP | Training camp news and notes

Lions: Cornerback Chris Cash likely is out for the season after injuring two ligaments in his left knee. Cash injured the anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments in Detroit's win against Cleveland Saturday night. Cash, a sixth-round pick out of Southern California, started 12 of Detroit's final 14 games last year and had one interception. He finished second on the team with 117 tackles. Andre Goodman likely will be moved into Cash's spot in the starting lineup.
Titans: Tight end Frank Wycheck will get a second opinion on his latest concussion. Wycheck's had at least four concussions in the NFL, and his latest on Aug. 16 left him briefly unconscious. He didn't play Saturday against Cincinnati and coach Jeff Fisher said he won't play Thursday night at Green Bay. The 10-year veteran is just 12 catches away from becoming the fourth tight end in NFL history with 500 career receptions. The Titans also are fighting through injuries defensively. Jevon Kearse (right ankle) will miss the game against Green Bay, and five others are injured. End Carlos Hall (left knee) has played only once this preseason, while tackle Albert Haynesworth (left leg) has missed most of the last two games.
Rams: Rookie wide receiver Kevin Curtis will be out four-to-six weeks with a broken leg. Curtis was injured Saturday night against Buffalo in the fourth quarter. The news was better about linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa, the team's second-round pick who sprained an ankle against the Bills. Coach Mike Martz said the injury was mild and that Tinoisamoa, a starter on the outside, could play in the preseason finale Thursday night against Kansas City. Another rookie, defensive back Shane Walton, will start at free safety against the Chiefs in place of the injured Kim Herring, who broke his left forearm on the opening kickoff. Herring will be out about eight weeks after undergoing surgery Sunday.
Giants: The team is so concerned about the tendinitis that Ryan Kuehl has developed in his right elbow that another long snapper may be signed this week. Kuehl noticed the tightness in his elbow leading up to the second preseason game (Aug. 15). He snapped against Carolina, but coach Jim Fassel held him out of practice last week and intended not to play him against the Jets. But Kuehl was forced to snap when center Chris Bober bruised his ribs and linebacker Nick Greisen pulled a hamstring.
Vikings: Running back Doug Chapman will be out about two weeks with a high right ankle sprain, leaving an already banged-up backfield with one less rusher for the season opener against Green Bay. The Vikings, who close out the preseason this week against Arizona, are already without Michael Bennett. Chapman, who was listed as the starter, injured his ankle in Friday's exhibition win over Oakland. Veteran Moe Williams, the team's third-down back, will start the season opener. But rookie Onterrio Smith, who has impressed coaches in training camp, could see some early action as well.
Patriots: Veteran running back J.R. Redmond, running back Antwoine Womack and defensive linemen Ken Kocher and Buck Rasmussen were released Sunday.
Eagles: Running back Duce Staley ended his 26-day holdout and reported to practice Sunday without the contract extension he has been demanding. Staley and his agent, Derrick Harrison, met with Eagles coach Andy Reid at least twice last week and met again when Staley arrived in Philadelphia on Saturday. -- Associated Press.
