PIRATES Sexson's hit gives Milwaukee sweep

The Brewers have a six-game winning streak.
MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Richie Sexson and the Milwaukee Brewers took full advantage of Pittsburgh's decision to pitch to the slugger.
Sexson hit an RBI single with two outs in the ninth inning Sunday, giving Milwaukee its first six-game winning streak in more than five years with a 10-9 victory over Pittsburgh.
"It's a great feeling," Sexson said. "We had been trying our best, but coming up short."
Sexson hit his 35th homer earlier in the game, and came to the plate with Scott Podsednik on second and first base open, and Eddie Perez -- in a 1-for-18 slump -- on deck.
Instead of intentionally walking Sexson, Pittsburgh had Brian Boehringer pitch to him, and Sexson sliced a 1-0 pitch down the left-field line for his 96th RBI.
"I was thinking to myself, 'Richie get a pitch to hit because they are probably going to pitch around you and probably going to take on Eddie,' " Milwaukee manager Ned Yost said.
Bucs' strategy
Pirates manager Lloyd McClendon said the Pirates were going to let Boehringer throw two pitches to Sexson before walking him. Sexson was 2-for-10 against Boehringer going into the at-bat.
"Boehringer's pretty much had this guy's number," McClendon said. "We're going to give him two pitches and get him to pop out. We just missed out on it."
Pittsburgh has lost four straight and nine of 13.
"They're all tough to swallow," said Pittsburgh's Jack Wilson, who had four hits.
Dan Kolb (1-1) pitched the ninth for the win.
Ninth-inning rally
Podsednik, who scored four runs, worked a walk off Mike Gonzalez (0-1) to open the ninth and moved to second on Bill Hall's sacrifice. Geoff Jenkins struck out for the second out and Boehringer came on to face Sexson.
Milwaukee scored five runs in the fifth to open an 8-4 lead. But Pittsburgh scored four runs in the eighth, taking a 9-8 lead on Tike Redman's three-run homer, his third of the season.
The Brewers tied it in the bottom half on Clayton's sacrifice fly, scoring John Vander Wal without a play at the plate.
Milwaukee's bullpen blew a late lead for the second consecutive game. With the Brewers up 8-5, reliever Valerio De Los Santos walked pinch-hitter Jeff Reboulet to open the eighth. Wilson then hit a hard grounder to the mound, but De Los Santos threw it into center field for an error, putting runners at first and third.
Leo Estrella, who gave up three runs in the ninth Saturday night, relieved and pinch-hitter Reggie Sanders singled home Reboulet to make it 8-6. Redman followed with his third home run to give the Pirates a 9-8 lead.
The Brewers scored five runs in the fifth for an 8-4 lead on a two-run double by Podsednik, an RBI single by Hall and a two-run homer by Sexson.
