Man wounded in head by shot

LEETONIA -- Police are investigating a shooting at a Leetonia home that left a 19-year-old in critical condition with a head wound.
Chief John Soldano said Chris Orinsak was staying at the home of Mark and Tammy Simonds, 106 W. Main, where the shooting occurred around 7:10 p.m. Monday.
A spokeswoman at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown said Orinsak was listed in critical condition this morning.
Soldano said the shooting took place inside the home with Mark and Tammy Simonds present. He said police removed a .22-caliber handgun, which they think was the weapon used.
He said he has interviewed firefighters and others but that it's too soon to tell whether the wound was self-inflicted or if someone else shot Orinsak.
Soldano said Orinsak is from Leetonia and his mother resides in Columbiana. Soldano said Orinsak has been living at the Simonds home for about a year because he is in a relationship with one of the Simonds' daughters.
Columbiana County Prosecutor Robert Herron and his staff are assisting in the investigation, Soldano said.
