Katie Smith scored 19 points and Svetlana Abrosimova added 17 for Minnesota (18-16), which finished the regular season with a winning record for the first time in franchise history. In their first-ever postseason, the Lynx will play either Houston or Los Angeles in the opening round. Holland-Corn scored five straight points for Detroit in overtime to give the Shock an 80-77 lead with one minute remaining. Minnesota's Michelle Van Gorp was fouled on the next possession, but missed both her free throws. Deanna Nolan then made a pair of foul shots to seal the game for Detroit.
