NEW YORK -- Tamika Catchings matched her career high with 32 points and the Indiana Fever won their final road game of the season. It was Indiana's first win ever at Madison Square Garden, and just its second in its last nine games overall. The Fever (15-17) moved within one game of the fourth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with two games to play. The Liberty (16-17), who had won seven of 10, fell one-half game behind Connecticut and Cleveland, who are tied for third. New York closes the regular season at Charlotte on Sunday. The Fever were 0-7 all-time at Madison Square Garden, including 0-2 in the playoffs. Indiana won the season series with New York 3-1. Catchings, who averaged 12 points on 32 percent shooting (8-for-25) in her previous two regular season games at New York, matched her 32-point performance against the Liberty on June 8, 2002 at Indiana. Catchings, the WNBA's Rookie of the Year last season, holds the record for points in a game by a New York opponent. She finished 11-for-20 from the field. Natalie Williams had 12 points and nine rebounds for Indiana, while Stephanie White added 11 before leaving game with 4:02 remaining with a knee injury. Crystal Robinson had 16 points for New York. The Liberty, who were 11-6 at home this season, trailed by as many as 13 points in the game and were down 32-25 at halftime. The Fever close their season with home games against Cleveland on Saturday and Connecticut on Monday.

UNCASVILLE, Conn. -- Katie Douglas scored 21 points and hit two free throws with 25.4 seconds left for Connecticut. Douglas also had five assists and five rebounds for Connecticut, which kept its playoff hopes alive with the win and prevented Charlotte from clinching one of the three playoff spots remaining in the Eastern Conference. The Sun (16-16) began the game with a 12-2 run, but the Sting (17-15) battled back to tie the game at 24 with 3:04 left in the first half and kept the game close until the Sun closed the game with a 9-1 run in the final 3:30. Shalonda Enis led the Sting with 17 points, 14 in the first half. Dawn Staley had 10 points and five assists. Both teams have two games remaining. Connecticut's Nykesha Sales scored 10 of her 15 points in the second half and grabbed seven rebounds. Taj McWilliams-Franklin added 13 points and six rebounds for the Sun.
