HANOVERTON -- Columbiana got its season off to an impressive start as it upended LaBrae 49-7 Friday at the Vikings' stadium.
Andrew Peacock caught touchdown passes of 19 and 29 yards from Adam Fast to trigger the Clippers' attack. Fast also tallied on a 28-yard run.
Andrew Wagner recovered a fumble in the Vikings' end zone for a Clipper TD and he also scored on a 21-yard run.
The Clippers rushed for 297 yards on 36 attempts and Fast hit on 4-of-8 passes for 103 yards.
LaBrae managed 123 rushing and 44 passing yards.
Hubbard 23, Holy Name 10
HUBBARD -- Shaun Lane rushed for 197 yards on 15 carries and scored on a 91-yard touchdown for the Eagles.
Chris Buccilli led the Eagles in scoring with a 22-yard field goal, two extra-point kicks and a 1-yard touchdown for 11 points. His touchdown was set up by a Bryan Boyce pass to Gilly DeMello that covered 70 yards.
Hubbard limited Holy Name to 69 yards rushing and 68 yards passing.
Lakeview 9, Harvey 7
PAINESVILLE -- A safety with seven seconds remaining in the third quarter snapped a 7-7 tie to lift Lakeview to victory.
Harvey scored early and held a 7-0 lead until Matt Nero's 1-yard run and Jim McHale's kick knotted the game, 7-all.
The safety came when a center's snap sailed over the head of the Harvey punter, who then tried to throw the ball out of bounds.
Morgan Lewis' 55-yard TD pass from Tony Herron and Herron's PAT put Harvey ahead with 4:53 remaining in the first quarter.
Lakeview took the second-half kickoff and marched down field in a little over seven minutes. The march covered 62 yards in 13 plays and the Bulldogs scored at 4:36 of the third.
Lakeview also had a threat in the fourth quarter, but the Bulldogs were intercepted in the end zone.
Nero, a senior fullback, gained 100 yards on 25 attempts, while junior John Rimar picked up 61 yards on 15 tries.
Lakeview finished with 187 yards on the ground and 25 in the air for 212 total. Harvey had 131 yards passing and 28 rushing for 159 total.
Lakeview lost four fumbles and had two passes intercepted, while Harvey lost three fumbles and had one picked off.
