Sisters spark Spartans



Brittny Humphrey scored four goals in Liberty's win.
BOARDMAN -- Twin sisters Lauren Sirak and Brittany Sirak each had two goals and one assist as the Boardman High girls soccer team defeated Salem 5-0 Saturday.
Caitlin Hackett scored the other goal for Boardman (1-0), while goalkeeper Liz Agnew made two saves.
Liberty 4, Girard 2
LIBERTY -- Brittny Humphrey scored four goals as Liberty defeated Girard.
Amy Banner made two assists, while Leopards (1-1, 1-0 Trumbull Athletic Conference) goalkeeper Briana Hideg made nine saves.
For Girard (0-2, 0-1), Heather Martin and Morgan Tonda scored goals.
Poland 10, Champion 0
CHAMPION -- Britt Davis scored two goals for Poland (1-0).
Other goal scorers for the Bulldogs were Krista Ginnetti, Emily Sutcliffe, Liz Rothenberg, Jessie Toth, Maureen Malone, Sarah Anderson, Lauren McMahon and Colleen Moran.
Laura Hassay made five assists on corner kicks. Poland goalkeeper Landry Yankle made three saves.
For Champion (1-1), Jessica Wood made seven saves.
West Branch 4, Ursuline 0
BELOIT -- Niki Brown scored two goals to lead the Warriors past Ursuline.
Paige Stryffler and Anina Beegle each added a goal for West Branch (2-0). Carli Poffenberger made 17 saves for West Branch, while Ursuline keeper Melissa Russo stopped 30 shots.
Hubbard 7, Gates Mills Hawken 2
GATES MILLS -- Lisa Jugenheimer scored two goals in a balanced offensive attack as Hubbard defeated Hawken.
Scoring one goal apiece for the Eagles were Loni Sargent, Kristen Eli, Alison Wynne, Ashley Helmick and Laura Dripps. Hope Wright and Stephanie Zubyk combined in goal for the Eagles.
Warren Harding 0, Newton Falls 0
WARREN -- Rachel Brazin made five saves for the Tigers (0-2-1).
Harding is 1-1-1.
