Patriots 24, Eagles 12
PHILADELPHIA -- Tom Brady threw three touchdown passes, leading the New England Patriots over the Philadelphia Eagles in the first football game at the new $520 million Lincoln Financial Field. The game was costly for Philadelphia, which lost starting wide receiver James Thrash to head and neck injuries, rookie defensive end Jamaal Green to a broken right fibula and backup defensive tackle Paul Grasmanis to a concussion. X-rays on Thrash were negative, but there was no immediate word on how long he'll be out. Green, a fourth-round pick from Miami, isn't likely to return anytime soon. Brady had TD passes of 21 and 12 yards to David Patten and 5 yards to Daniel Graham. He finished 14 of 24 for 148 yards in 21/2 quarters of action. Donovan McNabb and the rest of Philadelphia's starters played the first half. McNabb was 12 of 19 for 111 yards. He led the Eagles (2-1) to New England's 23 in the first quarter, but lost a fumble after being sacked by Ted Washington, who was acquired from Chicago for a fourth-round pick just three days before. The Patriots (3-0) have allowed only 31 points in their three exhibition wins.
Dolphins 30, Falcons 21
MIAMI -- Doug Johnson threw for 148 yards and a touchdown filling in for Michael Vick, but three Miami quarterbacks reached the end zone and the Dolphins beat winless Atlanta. Johnson completed 12 of 20 passes, including a 35-yard score to Peerless Price, and threw one interception before departing after one series in the second half with Atlanta trailing 10-7. Vick broke his right leg last weekend and is expected to miss the opening month of the season. Jay Fiedler, Brian Griese and Sage Rosenfels each had a hand in a touchdown for Miami (1-2). Newcomer Griese directed a 64-yard scoring drive in his only possession before leaving the game with an injured left big toe. The Falcons fell to 0-3 and must win Thursday at Cleveland to avoid their first winless exhibition season since 1979.
Vikings 21, Raiders 6
OAKLAND, Calif. -- Randy Moss caught two touchdown passes from Daunte Culpepper, and rookie Onterrio Smith rushed for a score in Minnesota's exhibition victory over Oakland. Moss spent the first half locked in one-on-one coverage with Charles Woodson, the Raiders' star cornerback. Moss won the matchup several times -- most noticeably on a 1-yard TD pass 24 seconds before halftime, when Moss shoved past Woodson and made a difficult catch above his head. Moss finished with five catches for 36 yards, and Culpepper went 13-of-22 for 141 yards in a big game for the Vikings' first-team offense. The Vikings (1-2) got their most encouraging performance of the preseason, including 228 total yards in the first half. Sebastian Janikowski made a 20-yard field goal in the second quarter, and rookie Joe O'Donnell also kicked a 33-yard field goal for the Raiders (1-2).
