McDonald boys win own Billy Goat race

MCDONALD -- The host McDonald High boys cross country team raced to victory in the 15-team Billy Goat Invitational.
Jason Corman led the Blue Devils, who scored 41 points, by placing third in 17 minutes, 10 seconds. He was followed by Joe Kunkel (fifth, 17:27) and Aaron Thornton (ninth, 17:46).
Struthers placed seventh, Southington ninth and Warren JFK 10th. Ryan Crocker of CVCA won the meet in 16:51.
The McDonald girls raced to a third-place finish with 129 points, behind champion CVCA (33) and Tallmadge (72). Area teams rounding out the top 10 were LaBrae in sixth, Mineral Ridge in ninth and Lakeview in 10th.
Nicole Camp of Norwayne won the girls race in 19:40. Terri George of Struthers won eighth (21:53).
