AMERICAN LEAGUE Millar's double saves Red Sox

ASSOCIATED PRESS
BOSTON -- Kevin Millar doesn't mind being the brunt of jokes now. Millar hit a game-winning double off the glove of leaping center fielder Mike Cameron with two outs in the 10th inning, sending the Boston Red Sox over the Seattle Mariners 7-6 Saturday.
For the past three games, the Red Sox have shown a homemade video on the center-field scoreboard from Millar's high school days of him dancing to Bruce Springsteen's "Born in the USA."
"Oh, yeah, I get teased once the song starts playing," said a smiling Millar. "I'm a pretty big dork."
It was shown just before the Red Sox came to bat in the bottom of the ninth Saturday. It'll likely get more play because Boston posted its third straight win.
The AL West-leading Mariners dropped their season-high fourth straight game.
"We just have to stay with it," Seattle's Mark McLemore said. "It's just the way the season goes sometimes."

Athletics 11, Blue Jays 5
TORONTO -- Reliever Mike Wood, who took injured Mark Mulder's roster spot, earned his first major league victory.
Billy McMillon hit a two-run double as part of a six-run sixth inning. The Athletics moved within two games of Seattle for first place in the AL West and remained tied with Boston in the AL wild-card race.
Wood (1-0) allowed two runs on one hit, while striking out three and walking one in 12/3 innings. The 23-year-old right-hander made his second big league appearance.
Wood was promoted from the minors Thursday when Mulder was placed on the 15-day disabled list. Mulder has a stress fracture in his right hip and is likely out for the season.
John Halama, who replaced Mulder in the rotation, got a no-decision, allowing three runs on six hits in just four innings.
The A's are 3-2 on their road trip despite not getting a win from any of their starters. Oakland's taxed bullpen is 3-0 with two saves and a 3.28 ERA in that span.
Adam Melhuse hit three-run homer off Toronto starter Pete Walker in the second. Chris Woodward hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom half, and Bobby Kielty had a tying, two-run double in the third.
The A's broke loose in the sixth against Tanyon Sturtze (6-6). After Chris Singleton hit a go-ahead RBI single, McMillon ended an 0-for-18 slump with his two-run double.
Miguel Tejada added an RBI double, and Mark Ellis later had a run-scoring grounder. Terrence Long's RBI single gave Oakland a 9-3 lead.
