AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Swin Cash scored 20 points and Cheryl Ford had 11 points and 11 rebounds to lead Detroit. The Shock can clinch the league's best record and homecourt advantage throughout the WNBA playoffs with one win in their last two games. They also will clinch if Los Angeles loses one of its remaining games. Deanna Nolan added 12 points for Detroit, while Elaine Powell had 11. Chasity Melvin led the Rockers with 14 and LaToya Thomas scored 12.
Liberty 65, Mystics 60
WASHINGTON -- Reserve guard Elena Baranova had 19 points, seven rebounds and three assists as New York rallied from an early 19-point deficit. Baranova replaced Vickie Johnson, who sprained her right ankle with 14:54 remaining in the first half and did not return. Chamique Holdsclaw led the Mystics with 21 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Tamika Whitmore scored 13 for New York, and Crystal Robinson and Kristen Sharp each added 10. Helen Luz's two 3-pointers and another by Coco Miller helped the Mystics build a 23-4 lead with 8:18 remaining in the half. The Liberty pulled within 33-19 at halftime.
Sparks 88, Lynx 65
LOS ANGELES -- Nikki Teasley scored 17 points as Los Angeles beat Minnesota and clinched a share of its fourth consecutive Western Conference championship. DeLisha Milton added 16 points, Mwadi Mabika scored 14 points and Lisa Leslie had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Sparks (22-10). Svetlana Abrosimova scored all of her 13 points in the second half for the Lynx (18-15), who fell a half-game behind third-place Sacramento.
Sacramento 62, Houston 54
SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Tangela Smith had 14 points and six rebounds as the Sacramento clinched a playoff berth. Yolanda Griffith had 10 points for the Monarchs (18-14), who holds the tiebreaker over Seattle (16-16) for the final spot in the Western Conference. Both teams have two games remaining. Tina Thompson led the Comets with 17 points. Houston (20-12) must win their last two games and needs Los Angeles to lose their final two to finish in first place in the West.
