ASSOCIATIONS
XDianthus Chapter of the American Business Women's Association will hold its monthly dinner meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland. Guests are welcome. For information and reservations call (330) 856-4989.
XWilliam Penn Association will hold a picnic Sept. 13 at Penn Scenic View Park near Seven Springs, Pa. A bus has been chartered by Youngstown Branch 28 for the event. Reservation deposits of $20 per person should be sent to William Penn Branch 28, 1606 Albert St., Youngstown, Ohio 44505. The amount of the balance due will depend on how many plan to attend. Cancellations must be made by Sept. 7. Cost of the all-you-can-eat picnic is $8 for adults and $4 for students. LEAGUES
XBoardman-Poland Junior Women's League will hold its new-member open house Sept. 8 at Beard Cabin at Boardman Township Park. The event will be a picnic. Women interested in joining the league may call (330) 540-9152 or send their name, address and phone number to Membership Chairwoman, BPJWL, P.O. Box 3412, Boardman, Ohio 44512. The group is open to all women 18 and older who live in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties. The organization provides community service in the areas of arts, conservation, education, home life, international and public affairs.
LIBRARY FRIENDS
XFriends of the Poland Library will meet at 10 a.m. Sept. 2 in the library meeting room. Carlton Sears, director of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, will be guest speaker. A picnic brunch will follow, and members are asked to take a casserole. Drinks will be provided, and hostesses will be Louise Martinko, Peg Shirey, Angie Ciavarella and Shirley Cagna. Guests are welcome.
SINGLES
XDue to Labor Day, the Original Christian Singles has postponed its next meeting until 6 p.m. Sept. 8. Gospel music will be presented by Rochelle Joy.
