Beatitude House to hold scramble

HOWLAND -- Beatitude House will hold its sixth annual golf scramble Sept. 28 at Avalon South Golf Course.
A shotgun start is scheduled for 9 a.m., and the cost of $75 per person pays for 18 holes of golf, half a cart, continental breakfast, lunch and dinner.
First- and second-place teams will win cash awards, and additional prizes will be awarded in men's and women's categories for longest drive, longest putt and closest to the pin.

Proceeds will benefit the programs of Beatitude House, which offers a transitional housing program in Youngstown and Warren for homeless women and children. The women who participate in the program live in furnished apartments for two years while receiving counseling and other support services as they pursue additional education.
