Internet music bootleggerpleads guilty to charges
WASHINGTON -- The purported leader of a cadre of Internet music bootleggers pleaded guilty Thursday to violating copyright laws, marking the first federal criminal prosecution of someone who specialized in online music piracy. Mark Shumaker, 21, of Orlando, Fla., faces a maximum of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine for distributing copyrighted music and software. He is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 7.

United Community declaresthird-quarter dividend
YOUNGSTOWN -- United Community Financial Corp. declared a third-quarter dividend of 7.5 cents a share, payable Sept. 15 to shareholders of record Aug. 31. United Community is the holding company for Home Savings and Loan Co. and Butler Wick Corp.
FirstEnergy outlook
AKRON -- FirstEnergy Corp. said that it will not ask customers to voluntarily reduce their use of electricity and it doesn't intend to implement rolling blackouts. With the start-up of its Perry Nuclear Power Plant and forecasts for more moderate temperatures, the company expects to meet customer demand.
