WNBA ROUNDUP Tuesday's other game

Comet 52, Storm 47
HOUSTON -- Sheryl Swoopes scored 15 of her 17 points in the second half and the Houston Comets clinched their seventh straight WNBA playoff berth. Janeth Arcain and Swoopes combined to go 7-for-8 from the free throw line over the final 1:38 as the Comets improved to 20-11 and moved within a game of Western Conference leader Los Angeles. "Whenever I go to the free throw line, I am thinking about just one thing," Arcain said. "I am alone with the basket and all I have to do is do what I do in practice. I think we played well at the end of the game and did what we could to keep them from tying it." Seattle (16-15) had a chance to tie the game with 7 seconds left, but Sue Bird drove toward the basket instead of trying for the 3-pointer. Her shot was blocked by Michelle Snow and Swoopes made two free throws to close the scoring. Lauren Jackson had 16 points and 15 rebounds for the Storm, fifth in the West and a game behind Minnesota and Sacramento. The top four teams in each conference make the playoffs. Arcain finished with 14 points and was 6-for-6 from the free throw line.
