Phone-cam blog is latest high-tech gizmo

KNIGHT RIDDER NEWSPAPERS
You're on a beach or at a rocking party and have a sudden urge to share the moment with your friends.
Now you can show them, with a cell phone. The newest thing in a phone is a digital camera. People are taking pictures and transmitting them to Web site destinations, called phone-cam blogs, especially designed for showcasing photos from mobile phones.
Time magazine says 3 million to 6 million phone-cams are expected to sell in the United States this year.
You post a picture of your newborn, and grandparents view it before they have time to book a flight to visit. You update your family on a new friend or adopted puppy.
Time says the pictures are a bit blurry but the shading only adds to the sense of reality.
Some phone-cam blogs are devoted to specific topics. Showcase your pets at dogblog.textamerica.com. And at Hiptop Nation (hiptop.bedope.com), the themes change during the week, Time says.
It's one more way to spend your time and money if you have ample supply of both.
