Canfield Fair Choir singers needed for Sunday

CANFIELD -- Singers of all ages are needed for the Canfield Fair Choir, which will perform during ecumenical services Sunday morning on the main concourse.
In years past, between 30 and 50 singers have turned out a half-hour before the 9:30 a.m. service to learn two choral anthems, said Tom Scurich, who is overseeing the program with his wife, Kelly.
Both Scurich and his wife are affiliated with First Covenant Church in Boardman and teach in Canfield Schools. Scurich is a music teacher at Hilltop Elementary School; Kelly Scurich is director of choral music at Canfield High School.
The anthems to be performed during this year's fair service, Scurich said, are "The Lord Is My Light" and "The King of Love."
The mother-daughter team of Margaret and Barbara Fieger will accompany the choir on piano and flute.
Interested singers should meet near the stage in the main concourse at 9 a.m. After the service, singers will be reimbursed their cost of admission to the fairgrounds.
