SCRAPPERS Team back to Batavia after loss

Brad Snyder and Mike Conroy each had three hits against Tri-City.
TROY, N.Y. -- The Mahoning Valley Scrappers couldn't hold an early lead Sunday, falling to Tri-City 7-5 at Joseph Bruno Stadium.
The score was tied at 4 entering the seventh inning before the ValleyCats scored three runs off Matt Davis for the victory.
Mahoning Valley (28-32) had taken a 4-2 lead after two innings in the New York-Penn League game.
In the second, Mike Conroy hit a two-run homer, while Brad Snyder added an RBI triple and Anthony Lunetta an RBI double.
Snyder and Conroy each finished with three hits and two RBIs. Snyder, a first-round draft pick of the Cleveland Indians, was a double short of the cycle.
The ValleyCats (33-26) tied the score at 4 in the bottom half of the third inning and waited until Davis (4-4) relieved starter T.J. Burton in the seventh to score the go-ahead runs.
Burton allowed four runs on seven hits in his six innings, striking out one and walking two.
Scott Robinson went 3-for-4 for Tri-City, and Juan Beltre pitched three innings of relief for the victory.
The Scrappers play in Batavia, N.Y., tonight and Tuesday. They have Wednesday off and then begin a three-game homestand against the Brooklyn Cyclones, the McNamara Division leader.
