Man faces more child porn charges

GIRARD -- A Boardman man already facing child pornography charges in that township was to appear today in Girard Municipal Court on similar charges. Police Capt. Frank Bigowsky has filed five counts of pandering obscene material of juveniles in sexually oriented positions against Jon S. Bloyer, 43, of Sigle Lane.
Bloyer posted a $15,000 bond in Mahoning County, but is in the Trumbull County jail on the Girard charges.
Bigowsky said he will ask for a high bond on the Girard charges because he thinks Bloyer is a flight risk.
Also, Bigowsky said, the finding of child pornography in Bloyer's home may be "only the tip of the iceberg" that is being investigated by other jurisdictions. According to police, Bloyer is accused of copying child pornography inside the Girard Public Library last week.
Police said he forgot to sign off the computer when he was finished, and the next customer found the explicit material on a Web page that showed Bloyer's name.
Boardman police Capt. Jack Nichols said a search warrant was issued, and Bloyer's home was searched last Thursday afternoon. Police said they found in his home seven explicit pictures involving sexual conduct with minors.
In addition to Boardman and Girard, others involved in the probe include the Ohio State Highway Patrol, FBI and Niles police.
