Book on WWII to be topicof library discussion group
HOWLAND -- The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library book discussion group will meet Sept. 16 from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Friends Meeting Room at the Howland branch, 9095 East Market Street, Howland.
Reference/young adult librarian Rollie Welch will lead a discussion of "They Were Expendable" by William Lindsay White. The nonfiction book describes the early months of World War II, as a poorly equipped military fought a losing battle at Bataan and Corregidor in the Philippines.
The discussion is open to all who have read the featured book. No reservations are required. The Howland branch staff has a limited number of discussion books available at the discounted price of $5.
