AKRON -- The University of Akron Press recently published "Gum-Dipped: A Daughter Remembers Rubber Town," by Joyce (Coyne) Dyer.
The book costs $27.95 and tells the story of Akron's rubber industry and its lasting effect on her and her family.
Dyer is an award-winning essayist and the author of two books, "The Awakening: A Novel of Beginnings" and "In a Tangled Wood: An Alzheimer's Journey." She is the director of writing and a professor of English at Hiram College.
