Several people were reported injured at the Ashtabula County site.
STAFF/WIRE REPORTS
ANDOVER -- Preliminary reports late this morning indicate that a man who tried to kill his girlfriend ended up wounding other people, killing one, at an auto supplies plant here, officials said.
Ashtabula County coroner's office spokeswoman Fran Richards said two people were dead, including the shooter. She didn't know if he killed himself.
Authorities said a man opened fire at Andover Industries about 8:20 a.m.
The plant is just north of state Route 6 in this Ashtabula County community, west of Pymatuning Lake.
Sheriff Bill Johnson said it "appears that more than one person was shot."
The gunman was a plant employee who has worked there about five years, he said.
Plant was secured
"There was a shooting," Johnson said. "The place is secure. There have been people moved out in ambulance or life flight."
Two women from the plant were taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.
One was in surgery and doctors were treating the other patient, said hospital spokeswoman Patty Rush.
No other details were immediately available.

A nurse at St. Joseph Family Medical Center in Andover said no information was available there this morning.
