GOLF Make-A-Wish outing is set at Bedford Trails



It will be the first charity golf outing of the summer.
COITSVILLE -- The first summer charity golf outing, benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation, will be held Aug. 30 at Bedford Trails Golf Course.
The event is a four-person scramble with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The entry fee is $60 per person.
The outing includes a hole-in-one contest worth $20,000, sponsored by Jolly Joe's sports bar, and one person will be chosen to make a putt worth $2,500, sponsored by Pane 'N The Glass window cleaning.
Prizes include merchandise signed by over 50 LPGA professionals, including Annika Sorenstam, donated by Sign-Pro of Boardman, and golf balls signed by LPGA professional Grace Park.

Other prizes and raffles include merchandise from Ping, including golf bags and accessories, and clubs and putters donated by Master Golf. Many area businesses have donated gift certificates and items also.
Other sponsors are Coke, Family Video, On-Target Printing, Xtreme Fitness, Easy Street Productions, Cord Camera, Arm Cigar and Special-Tee Golf.
Also, Clear Channel Radio is a sponsor and will be represented by the "Not Ready for Par Players" -- Dan Rivers of WKBN-AM, Thomas John of BIG-106, Jerry Mac of 95.9 KISS-FM and Chris Patrick of 93.3. The Wolf.
Trophies will be awarded for first place; skins and raffles will also be available.
The fee also includes a continental breakfast, lunch and a catered outdoor smoked barbecue. Single and double sign-ups are welcome and will be placed with other groups.

Proceeds
All net proceeds will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation and will be used in this region. About 80 percent of each dollar goes directly to program services.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants special wishes of children between the ages of 2 1/2 and 18, who have been diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses.
