MINNEAPOLIS -- Lisa Leslie scored 19 points in her return after four weeks on the injured list. It was the 15th straight win for Los Angeles against Minnesota. The Sparks were 4-7 during Leslie's 11-game absence after she bruised her right knee in the WNBA All-Star game. All-Star forward DeLisha Milton, also playing for the first time since injured with a left-ankle injury, added 21 points and 11 rebounds. Nikki Teasley had 15 points and 11 assists. Svetlana Abrosimova scored 15 points and Katie Smith added 14 for Minnesota, which had its club-record winning streak at home snapped at seven games. The Lynx had 21 turnovers leading to 17 Sparks' points.
Mystics 76, Sting 69
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Coco Miller scored a career-high 23 points, including a 3-pointer in the final minute. Chamique Holdsclaw had 23 points, nine rebounds and seven assists for the Mystics (9-21), who rallied from a nine-point first-half deficit for their second straight win. After Charlotte cut a 15-point deficit to three, Miller hit a 3-pointer from the top of the key with 29 seconds remaining. Andrea Stinson scored 20 points and Tynesha Lewis added 13 for the Sting (16-13), who had a two-game winning streak snapped. Charlotte, which is 4-0 against East-leading Detroit, finished 1-3 against the last-place Mystics. Miller, whose twin sister Kelly did not score for Charlotte, scored 8 points in a 14-0 run to start the second half as the Mystics took a 46-40 lead. Miller's layup with 8:41 remaining put Washington ahead 64-49. Washington made 14 of its first 17 shots in the second half after shooting 37 percent in the first half. The Sting, meanwhile, missed 13 of their first 15 shots in the second half after shooting 56 percent in the opening 20 minutes. Lewis hit consecutive 3-pointers in the first half to give the Sting a 23-17 lead with 11:20 remaining. Charlotte was 6-of-8 on 3-pointers in the half and Lewis' runner with 2.1 seconds to go put the Sting ahead 40-32 at halftime.
